Subhash Ghai and Anil Kapoor first came together in 1985 with the super hit ‘Meri Jung’.And then there have been other great movies that followed. To name a few, there was ‘Karma’, ‘Ram Lakhan’ and ‘Taal’.
‘Yuvvraaj’ is the latest addition to this list, where Anil Kapoor plays an autistic character named Gyanesh. It reminds us of his role in Eeshwar, a movie that touched the hearts of people way back in 1989. “In that film the character was so well etched in people's memories that they can’t forget it,” says actor Anil Kapoor nostalgically.
About the next step of the movie, Anil feels that Subhash Ghai will have to go through the same grind once it is released. “You know how it is when Ghai makes a film. They want to tear him apart, they want to rip it, he's gone through it and I’m sure he'll go through it again,” says the actor.
He also adds that he chooses to be part of a project only after he approves of the script, but with Subhash Ghai, it is different. He gives Ghai a nod without second thoughts; that is the kind of relationship they share.
While the sound tracks are moving up the charts, we will have to wait for a day or two to know if the Subhash Ghai-Anil Kapoor team manages to deliver another hit. ‘Yuvvraaj’ hits the screens tomorrow.
