“I’m really looking forward to do a film on sports. I guess there is a lot of excitement and enthusiasm about sports in our country and films should be made on them. We have a culture for sports and it will be nice if more films are made on it. Such films are great to be a part of. I’m keen on finding a good script in a sports-based film. I’ll surely do it,” says Deepika, who was a state-level badminton player in her school days.

On asked whether acting is more interesting or modelling, she firmly believes that modelling has given her the necessary foundation for acting. “If I would have gone straight into acting, I’m not sure whether I would be as confident to face the cameras as I am today. However, when I was modelling, I did not really have any plan of joining the film industry. It just happened that people trusted my abilities,” said the 22-year-old actress. We wish her good luck for her forthcoming film Bachna Ae Haseeno, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba.
